Where the deer and the ANTELOPE play! This very curious bunch watched the guys zoom by on their iron horses.
Stu spied this Bald Eagle that appears to be hunting from the top of this fence post. Ron was able to snap the photo before the majestic bird flew off.
The road to nowhere...no, it's actually the route towards Gardiner, Montana. From this image you can absolutely tell why Montana is called "big sky country". The guys are smack dab in the middle of ranch land.
The guys stopped in Emigrant, Montana to have lunch with Seth Rosenberger. Seth is Ron's son-in-law Adam's brother. Seth lives on the B Bar Ranch, located in the Tom Miner Basin. The B Bar raises Suffolk Punch draft horses. Seth is a Herdsman on the ranch caring for the large cattle herd. The B Bar also practices high altitude organic gardening.

Seth gave the guys directions to the Old Saloon in Emigrant. The saloon was a great place for lunch. It was established in 1902! The guys really enjoyed talking with Seth about work, life and the ranch. They were very appreciative that Seth took the time from his busy day, to come off the ranch to meet them.
From Emigrant, the guys headed straight to Yellowstone National Park.
Stu has a brush with the law in Yellowstone. Thinking they had cleared the gate to enter, the Park Ranger noticed the skull that Stu has been toting around on the back of the bike. The ranger had to "write" this up. If a ranger at the exit of the park noticed the skull, he might think Stu had swiped something he shouldn't have.
Not to be outdone, Fred had a brush with the law too! Fred has been sporting the tail of a mule deer. The ranger needed to document that Fred was bringing this into the national park. Now, Fred scored on this tail from a freshly killed mule deer he saw on the side of the road. That explains the swarm of flies following Fred!
Looking across Yellowstone Lake.
A beautiful image of the majestic Tetons.
The scenery changes as the boys cross over into Wyoming on the way to Cody.
Verified by the sign, the guys have reached Cody, Wyoming!
Making good use of an abandoned chair outside the Irma Hotel, Fred ponders the popular query, will Lebron James stay in Cleveland or will he abandon the Cavaliers? The Irma Hotel was built in 1902 by Buffalo Bill Cody. His daughter, Irma, ran the hotel for many years. The boys watched the nightly play outside the Irma, had dinner and did a little shopping in the gift shop, before roaming around town a little.
The total miles ridden today - 325.
Tomorrow the guys are heading over the Bear Tooth Pass and Chief Joseph Highway. They will leave Wyoming for a bit crossing back into Montana towards the town of Red Lodge.
Cody is one of the best places ever. Beartooth Pass to Red Lodge is amazing! Have a great time, men!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys got to hook up with Seth! I'm still fascinated by his daily life, it's SO different than Indiana. Sounds like he had lots of information to share. Keep on coming East... it won't be long!
