Day 15 - Tucson, Arizona to Yuma, Arizona

The guys got a late start this morning. Stu told the boys he was going to do some computer work. Here they found him sound asleep on the job. The clock on the nightstand says 1:34 p.m. It was simply siesta time. Mike did not have a GPS or telephone connection since he had to purchase that new motorcycle. A stop at the J&M Corporation was imperitive to ammend the situation.
The boys pose for a photo with Keith, in the orange t-shirt and Pete, in the purple shirt, from J&M. The quartet first met Keith and Pete at Bike Week in Daytona this past February. J&M educated the boys on helmet communication devices. Keith and Pete took good care of the boys. They wired Mike's bike for communication, offered ice cold water and suggestions about their travel route.
2:00 p.m., the time the guys were on the road for day 15. While crossing the Tohono O'Odham Indian Reservation these huge cacti were spotted. They sent Mike out as a scout. The fellas used Mike's height as a barometer for how tall that cactus really was.
Fred's motto: Safety First! Here he encounters that huge cactus while wearing appropriate head protection from the gigantic stickers. Ron throws caution to the wind by simply wearing only a ball cap.
The sign pointing the way! The guys are eagerly anticipating their second corner, San Diego. Their total miles ridden today - 305 miles, not bad for such a late start in the day.

  1. Yikes! Those are some big cactuses (yeah, I'm sure it's cacti but in Indiana it's definitely cactuses!) I don't know much about Arizona but last summer I went skipping through the desert to look at a cactus while my in-laws watched and waited until I was pretty far away to tell me to watch out for rattlesnakes... and then I sprinted back... screaming. Can't wait to see what's up next for the group!!
